Sustainability

Responsible by design.

How we operate, who we partner with, and how we treat people and data.
Our approach

Sustainability as operating discipline.

PBSL Group is a senior payments technology consultancy. We do not run factories or fleets — our footprint is defined by how we work, the partners we choose, and the standards we hold ourselves to. We treat sustainability the same way we treat a payments programme: as a matter of discipline, evidence, and accountability, not slogans.

This page sets out the principles that govern how we operate today, and the commitments we are working toward. We would rather state less and mean it than claim more than we can stand behind.

Our principles

Six commitments that shape how we work.

Low-footprint delivery
We are a remote- and hybrid-first firm. Consultants work embedded with client teams over secure digital channels, and we travel only when the work genuinely requires it. Deliverables are digital by default.
Responsible partnerships
Our work is delivered through a small, curated partner ecosystem. We choose partners who meet the security, compliance, and ethical standards we expect of ourselves — and we hold a single point of accountability for the outcome.
People and expertise
We engage senior professionals and treat them as such. Every engagement is built to transfer knowledge, so clients are left self-sufficient rather than dependent. We do not run churn-and-burn staffing.
Data ethics and security
Privacy and security are built into how we work, not bolted on. We align to PCI DSS, DORA, and ISO 27001 practices, and we apply AI responsibly — audit-ready outputs, human oversight, and no black boxes in regulated decisions.
Diversity across markets
We operate across two continents and three languages. That breadth is reflected in how we hire: on capability and domain knowledge, drawing on a deliberately diverse talent base across Europe and Latin America.
Governance and ethics
We operate with integrity: clear contracts, honest advice, zero tolerance for corruption, and a compliance-first culture that mirrors the regulated environments our clients work in.
Where we are heading

Commitments we are working toward.

We are honest about being early in formalising this. Our current priorities are: establishing a simple, credible way to measure the footprint of our operations and travel; documenting our partner due-diligence standards; and reviewing this policy annually as the firm grows.

We will report progress as we have something real to report. We will not publish carbon-neutral claims, certifications, or numbers we cannot evidence.
